Consumer Alerts

TATOC works closely with government departments, the police, the industry trade body, the RDO, Trading Standards and the U.K.'s consumer authorities to protect consumers from fraudulent activities.

Every month the site publishes a list of the companies that have been undertaking cold calling activities (listed on the homepage) and there is a master list covering past years as well.

In this section, we bring to consumers' attention the companies that the police and authorities are particularly concerned about. For further information about any of these companies, if you have a consumer alert you would like TATOC to investigate and for advice if you feel you have been scammed, please contact This email address is being protected from spambots. Beware claim firms warning to owners

Published: 13 May 2015

TATOC Consumer AlertOwners of Spanish timeshare have been warned to beware of approaches by so-called claims companies offering ‘trouble-free’ legal support.

This follows a recent ruling by the Spanish Supreme Court finding in favour of a claimant who brought a case against the Anfi group.

Anfi’s legal advisors say the court’s judgment has been  a misrepresentation of Spanish law and has limited applicability, citing  the two European timeshare Directives.

The TATOC Consumer Helpline has urged owners who “have concerns” or have been targeted by claims companies to contact their resort management or developer.

Alternatively the Helpline can offer help and advice by email: This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. or by telephone: 0845 230 2430.
