TATOC The Timeshare Association

For individual timeshare owners who would like to join TATOC.

TATOC is a consumer-based association formed as a not-for-profit company in 1989. Our principle objective is to safeguard and enhance the timeshare holiday experience for existing and prospective users, and to be the voice of timeshare owners.

In addition we aim:

• To promote, within timeshare resorts and the industry, the maintenance of high quality standards in the provision of timeshare facilities and amenities.
• To encourage the efficient management of timeshare resorts through communication and education.
• To lobby and campaign on matters related to timeshare and timeshare owners by liaison with trade & industry bodies and government departments.
• To actively promote the positive image of timeshare through all communications channels.

TATOC is not a charity. We are a professional, not-for-profit, consumer association run by timeshare owners for timeshare owners. We provide a free-of-charge information and assistance service to anyone who needs help, whether they are a member or not, even if they are not a timeshare owner.  We have regular contact with the Office of Fair Trading and the department of Business Innovation and Skills (BIS).  We have presented written evidence to the House of Lords on timeshare legislation on behalf of timeshare owners and visited the European Commission and European Parliament to lobby on their behalf.

We do not receive any funding from official or government bodies and we do not charge for our service to consumers and resort committees.  We depend for our funding on membership contributions, our website and sponsorship at our annual conference. 

In 2008, in response to demand, we introduced a new Individual Membership scheme for timeshare owners who want to be a part of TATOC and to support our work.  Individual membership is open to everyone but is specifically designed for owners whose resorts do not have an Owners Committee or where the Owners Committee is not a member of TATOC.  I would like to invite you to become a TATOC Individual Member.

• News and information from TATOC about important timeshare issues
• A printed copy of quarterly TATOC magazine “Sharetime” with news and other articles about the timeshare industry.
• A discounted rate for the TATOC annual conference
• The opportunity to attend the TATOC Annual General Meeting
• Access to the members-only area of the website with a notice board for information sharing
• The opportunity to be elected to the board of TATOC to represent individual owners
• A chance to take part in surveys pertinent to the timeshare industry

New benefits will be coming on line as we develop the Individual membership scheme.

But perhaps the most important reason people join TATOC is to be a part of the largest (and the only elected) timeshare consumer body in Europe, dedicated to achieving the very best for timeshare owners current and future, and to be their voice wherever it needs to be heard.
