| Selling your timeshare interest - General Resale Advice |
Page 1 of 3 There may come a time in your ownership when you feel that you would like to sell your timeshare for personal reasons. There are some basic points you need to remember when you start to think about selling:
However, if you are interested in resale please be advised not paying upfront fee as there is no justification for such a request i.e. insurance cover, VAT, validity survey, land registers tax etc. To accept only those offers which appear realistic (i.e. the double of the purchase price or even the purchase price is not realistic). Also not accepting any offers including transfers, refund of travel expenses, etc.; and not trusting companies stating that they already have a buyer as the may be a marketing strategy rather than a concrete offer. Using Resale Companies Some might not handle Points and some might charge up-front registration fees.Where there is not an up-front fee it is normal that the resale company would charge for optional advertising e.g. on the Internet. The list of resale companies that we provide is only made up of reputable companies that have been tried and tested. NB: Before instructing a resale company to act on your behalf it is important that the timeshare ownership documentation e.g. membership certificate or escritura is complete and available, maintenance fees are paid, and that any exchange organisation’s future banking/deposit of week(s)/points are made clear. If you are considering selling your timeshare we would advise you to be wary of people who cold call you with a claim that they have a client already interested in buying your timeshare and promise an unrealistic sales price. Details of the services, costs, commissions, valuations etc. should be obtained by contacting the relevant resale companies direct. If in doubt contact TATOC. |
